Three new honorary members were appointed this year, for their great contribution to the ISTRO organisation; Dr. Blair McKenzie, Dr. Kayode Carroll Oni and Dr. Chibueze Ibegbu Ijioma.
as a Principal
Dr. Blair McKenzie's last employment was as a Research Scientist and sometime programme leader at the Scottish Crop Research Institute (Dundee UK) subsequently merged to the James Hutton Institute and as a Research Fellow at the University of Dundee. His duties in these organisations included research, teaching, supervision of postgraduate students (both masters and PhD’s), management and administration. Blair served as ISTRO Secretary-General from 2015-2022. He retired from employment in 2022 but still serves as one of the Chief Editors of Soil & Tillage Research.
Prof. Dr. Kayode Carroll Oni served meritoriously as one of the longest serving President of ISTRO Nigeria Branch. A professor of Farm Power and Machinery, in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. His core research area is Soil Tillage Dynamics. Prof. Oni served as the Executive Director, National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization for eight years; he has retired from the active service of the University of Ilorin, Nigeria since 2018.
Prof. Dr. Chibueze Ibegbu Ijioma is an active member of ISTRO Nigeria Branch. He has served the Brach association meritoriously. A professor of Farm Power and Machinery, Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. Prof. C. I. Ijioma received a Research Grant Award in Soil Tillage Studies in 2007 and he has served as ISTRO Board Member and continues to provide good leadership and support for ISTRO Nigeria Branch. Prof. C. I. Ijioma has retired from the active service of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria since 2017.
